Edgardo Gómez born 1978 in Santiago, Chile.
His earliest interest in music and sound leads him to study Sound Engineer and Acoustic, in Santiago, Chile. In November 2006, 15 months after finishing his Bachelor degree, decide to fly to Europe in search of new jobs opportunities and a better understanding of the behaviour and perception of sound.
Following this aim, during his permanency in Europe, his sound interests turn to the sociologic and politic field, particularly the development of urban cultures, how they shape cities and define the way in which his inhabitants interact. In 2012, and after 3 years of learning the german language, begin the Master of Arts "Sound Studies", given by the University of Arts (UdK) in Berlin, Germany, which finished with honour in 2014. This Master program lead him to complement his already technic knowledge as a Sound Engineer and Acoustic with his new socio-cultural and political challenges.
In addition to his work as a Mixing Engineer, Edgardo has accumulated a significant number of works within Sound Art, participating in projects with renowned artists such as Sam Auinger, Hans Peter Kuhn, Martin Supper or Robert Henke.
His recent investigations transit at the border between research and art, moving in the fields of sound perception, field recordings, soundscapes, sound anthropology and 3D Audio.
Currently works in his own studio Chitakay SoundLab, a sound collective located in Berlin and co-founded with Paulo Sapiaín.
