Jack Herscowitz is a Los Angeles based composer, sound artist, and improviser who engages deep inter-personal collaborations, trans-disciplinary thinking, and alternate definitions of "score" to recognize music as a process which extends beyond the singular dimension of sound. He has collaborated with a variety of artists and ensembles including the Arditti Quartet, Julia Alvarez, Ensemble Dal Niente, Anaís Azul, Meitar Ensemble, Del Sol String Quartet, and the Atlantic Reed Consort. Recent performances have taken place at the Hellerau European Centre for the Arts, the Moscow Conservatory, June in Buffalo, Meitar Ensemble's CEME Festival, and the Provincetown Film Festival. Jack is pursuing an M.F.A. in Composition and Experimental Sound Practices at CalArts where he studies with Michael Pisaro and Steve Lehman.
