Rodrigo Pascale (b. 1996) is an internationally awarded Brazilian composer currently based in the United States, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in composition at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University under the guidance of renowned composer Felipe Lara. His music has been performed worldwide by leading ensembles, including the JACK Quartet, International Contemporary Ensemble, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (MCME), Splinter Reeds, loadbang, Hypercube, Hinge Ensemble, and Sound Icon. Pascale was selected as a Nominee for the Gaudeamus Award 2026, one of the most prestigious international prizes for emerging composers. He is also the recipient of the Residency Prix CIME 2025, the 1st Prize in the Prix d’Été Composition Competition, the 2021–22 Robert G. Fisk Award for Chamber Music, and the Festival Expresiones Contemporáneas Call for Scores for Bassoon Solo, among other honors.

His works have been featured at numerous international festivals and conferences, including International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), SEAMUS, the New York City Electronic Music Festival (NYCEMF), Foro Internacional de Música Nueva Manuel Enríquez, the St. Petersburg International New Music Festival, Electronic Music Midwest (EMM), MUSLAB’s Electroacoustic Music International Exhibitions, the V International Congress of Music and Mathematics, the Performance Media Festival [PMF~], and Espacios Sonoros Festival.

Pascale has collaborated with artists and ensembles across the globe, including the London Contemporary Soloists (UK), Carla Costeira (Netherlands/Portugal), and Teresa Díaz de Cossio (Mexico). Earlier in his career in Brazil, he gained recognition with performances at regional recitals and major national events, most notably the Panorama da Música Brasileira Atual.His works have also entered the repertoire of ensembles such as the UFRJ Sax Ensemble, UFRJ Brass Quintet, Duo Adour, Cron Ensemble, Quinteto Lorenzo Fernandez, and performers including Eduardo Monteiro, Thalyson Rodrigues, and Ariane Petri.

His academic path began with a bachelor’s degree in composition from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, followed by a Master of Music in Composition and a Master of Arts in Music from Western Michigan University, where he studied with Marcos Nogueira, Liduino Pitombeira, Lisa Coons, and Christopher Biggs. He has also undertaken private studies with Georg Friedrich Haas, Arthur Kampela, Joshua Fineberg, Eric Wubbels, and Michael Hersch.
