Jose Nisa began his musical studies at the Municipal School of Music in his hometown Bienvenida (Badajoz), where he received saxophone lessons from clarinetist and conductor Miguel Morán.

Later, he met the saxophonist Diego Carretero, who would be a fundamental meeting in his musical training, he was his saxophone teacher until he entered the Conservatorio Superior de música Bonifacio Gil de Badajoz (CSMB). Jose completed his Bachelor’s degree in 2021 under the tutelage of Vicente Contador with honours and extraordinary prize.

He has taken many masterclasses, notably with Marcus Weiss, Marie-Bernadette Charrier and Sara Zazo.

Jose was involved in contemporary music and creation, and he premiered a work by the composer Gonzalo Navarro. He has participated in several cycles of contemporary music and has collaborated with ensembles such as the Container Ensemble [BJZ] and the CSMB Contemporary Music Ensemble.

As a soloist, he has played with the Badajoz Municipal Wind Orchestra and the Badajoz Conservatory of Music Wind Orchestra.

In 2020, he was selected as a musician at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and become member of the famous young international orchestra. In 2023 he become part of Lucerne Festival Academy and in 2024 was part of Lucerne Festival Forward

He is currently doing a master’s degree in Contemporary Music Interpretation at the Geneva University of Music, where he works with the musician Joshua Hyde.
