Born in 2007 in Asti, Matteo Borga began his studies at the age of 10 with Euphonium and after two years he started play trombone.
He participated a few masterclasses with Vincent Lepape, Jamie Williams, Peter Steiner, Zoltan Kiss, Enzo Turriziani, Massimo La Rosa, Simone Maffioletti, Vincenzo Paratore, Jacques Mauger, Inda Bonet, Diego Di Mario, Devid Ceste, Matteo De Luca, Michael Buchanan, Nicolas Moutier, Ermes Giussani, Antonello Mazzucco, Laurent Cabaret, Pablo Fenoglio and Nicolas Lapierre.
He studies trombone at the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara since 2020 with Corrado Colliard.
He won the first prize of the Brass Category 98/100 (maximum age of participation 21 years), the first prize in the section “progress” at the final he received a special mention “for having presented with technical confidence a program of considerable difficulty” at the “XXVII National Instrument Competition City of Giussano” with a completely program for trombone solo (Folke Rabe – Basta and Enrique Crespo's Improvisation No. 1 for trombone solo). He won the first prize at the “2022 International Competition City of Alessandria” 99/100. He won the special prize “for the best player under 16” at the “6th International Competition Rizzardo Bino” and the second prize at the “20° International Music Competition City of Chieri”.
