Iman Jesmi is a sound artist and composer whose work explores sensory perception, identity, immigration, and political soundscapes. Born in Iran, he studied Iranian music at the University of Tehran and has presented sound installations and performances internationally, including Sensory Souvenir at Berlin’s Radialsystem, examining the impact of immigration on urban soundscapes and smellscapes. Invited as a visiting artist to institutions like the MAXXI Museum in Rome and the Villa Massimo in Germany, Iman’s research delves into auditory self-awareness, sonic gender identity, and socio-political soundscapes, blending Iranian traditions with innovative multimedia practices.
