Restarting Awareness

Restarting Awareness is a multimedia performance for one performer, virtual reality, projection, sound, and choreography.

Performed by the composer Johanna Sulalampi, the work transforms the virtual world into both a musical and visual instrument. Through the performer’s interaction with a VR environment, sound, projected visuals, and movement intertwine to create an immersive narrative exploring the possibility of a shared awareness between the computer and its user. Blurring the boundaries between physical and digital presence, Restarting Awareness reflects on human–machine symbiosis and perception in virtual space.
